New sets!
Yay, we have some new sets in our shop! If you look in our shop today, you will see "Pretty Trees" and "TRAVEL" magnets and pushpins. We have other magnets with trees as well, so we wanted to offer even more variety for those of you that love the tree magnets and pushpins. Some new ones...
It is so much fun to find new paper for our magnets and push pins. We recently added some new sets, available as magnets of push pins. A few new flower designs, for those who love flowers. And some other just cool designs, "monsters" and "little animals". As you all know, fall is approaching, so we added some for Halloween as well! Check them out!

Craft Fair at OU
We're excited about this week's crafts fair at OU on the beautiful Norman campus. We have been preparing a lot of sets today and will be selling them in sets of 7 marble magnets or push pins in round tins. I am sitting here typing with glue all over my hands! I'll do anything for Mostly Magnets, haha. Last year was our first fair, but since that fair, our little shop has done pretty well and we are quite excited! I will write more later this week and post some pics of the fair later in the week hopefully.

Pretty trees in our shop
Trees marble magnets and push pins. There is something about trees. Pretty green trees with flowers or bare branches in the winter. Marie said the other day that we should have some more tree magnets, and it seems like people care about them because we have sold quite a few of a tree designwe have offered in our shop for a while. We ran out of that paper unfortunately so while we continue to look for that paper, we decided to create our own design. We hope you like them!

Unique
Many shops sell glass marble magnets (and push pins) on Etsy... but I would like to believe that Mostly Magnets is a unique shop. We now sell more and more items that are unique to Mostly Magnets. Original Mostly Magnets designs! =) That is a very good feeling! We work very hard at coming up with new designs for our marbles. It is so much fun seeing an idea being transformed into an actual product. Keep in mind that both sets are available both as magnets and as push pins! Here are some new products:
First Day of Spring (very appropriate since Spring is just a couple of days away...) Pretty tulips and narcissus!

NKOTB Love Forever
Marie and I have always been New Kids on the Block fans, yes we have! When we learned that NKOTB would be reunited and go on a world tour again, we were extatic. Last week we went to Tulsa for the NKOTB concert and we had the time of our lives. It was amazing! Who would have thought that we would be going to see the guys in concert again, 18 years after first seeing them in concert back in Sweden? It was great back then but even hotter now! We got inspired and decided to make a New Kids On The Block magnet set, for all of you NKOTB fans out there. We know you exist! What do you think?

Baby shower
We are currently working on some VERY sweet magnets! How can they not be sweet... when the focus is BABY? We do not have any original MM artwork focusing on these wonderful little creatures... not yet! These magnets will be great as baby shower favors! They will also be great as a gift for a friend who is expecting or simply as a little gift for yourself! We are working on them right now so keep your eyes open for something new in our shop!
P.S. We will have sets with a boy theme, girl theme and a 'neutral' theme!

Some good info
Here is a little piece of information about the magnets we use (in case you did not know): We use rare earth magnets (also called Neodymium magnets) which are very strong! The pull force of a small magnet is 2.4 lbs. This may or may not mean much to you. Let me put it this way: the magnet will hold up 8 sheets of letter-size paper on a magnetic surface. The pull force of a big magnet is 5.2 lbs. This magnet will hold up 18 sheets of letter-size paper (we did a test). These magnets hold things in place VERY well!

Another blog feature
Thanks Ashley from Particularly Pretty for featuring our "Recycle" push pins on February 3. If you have a minute, go check out her blog. She features a lot of really pretty online finds, and she has her own etsy shop!
So what's new in our shop?
It has been a busy week for us, a great busy week! We posted an add on craftcult and I think it resulted in a bit of traffic to our website. Yay! Also, Marie took all new pictures of our product items (quite a task because we have so many products now in our shop!), and we added a lot of new products. So, it has been keeping us very busy. Those of you who visit our shop and give us nice comments, thanks a lot!
We added "Vintage Numbers", "Little Mushrooms" and "Earth" magnets and push pins.
If you look in our shop, you will see that we have already a set of owls (called "Hoot"), but this new set, "Owls", is a little different because the background is white. The sock monkeys and skulls and crossbones were some other original MM ones that we just recently added. The products with original MM artwork are probably the most fun. It's great to see that people enjoy them.

Weather in Oklahoma
Well, the weather in Oklahoma has not been the greatest this week. Rain, sleet, snow, icy roads, bad enough for the schools to close. So, no work Tuesday or Wednesday. You get cabin fever after a while, but the good thing is that we have been very productive for Mostly Magnets the past couple of days. A few new Mostly Magnets originals set have been posted: "Inspiration", "Recycle", and "Days of the Week" marble magnets and pushpins. Oh, and we have started advertising on craftcult.com, so we will see how that goes.

Chocolate minute mug cake
Are you craving something sweet? Perhaps you are looking for a quick and fun gift idea? Try this! We each got a "chocolate minute mug cake" from our dear friend Suzette for Christmas. It consisted of a very nice mug, and in it we found a ziploc bag with dry ingredients, and an attached to it was a card with the ingredients and directions on how to finish making this delicious treat. Who doesn't need a treat like that every now and then, especially while you are being creative? You should try it, it's so easy!
This is what you need:
1 coffee mug
dry ingredients to put in a ziploc bag (4 tablespoons flour, 4 tablespoons sugar, 2 tablespoons baking cocoa, 3 tablespoons chocolate chips) * If you are making this for yourself, of course you can skip the ziploc bag...
1 egg
3 tablespoons milk
3 tablespoons oil
Small splash of vanilla
Add dry ingredients to mug and mix well (this is what you can put in the ziploc bag). Add the egg and mix thoroughly. Pour in the milk, oil and vanilla and mix again. Put your mug in the microwave and cook for 3 minutes. The cake will rise over the top of the mug, so don't be alarmed. Allow to cool, and tip out onto a plate if desired. Or just dig in with a spoon! EAT and ENJOY!
Mostly Magnets have been featured on some blogs again THANKS!
It's always fun for us to be featured on someone's blog or in a treasury. Jeri's Organizing & Decluttering News featured our aqua blomma push pins on January 7. Go check out Jeri's site for some really good organizing and decluttering ideas!
Raspberry Patch Soapworks, http://www.rpsoapworks.com/?p=3159, featured some of our push pins that she had bought from us back in December. She has some great information and links on bath products, candles, household items, product reviews etc. Go check it out by clicking on the link above.
Thanks for featuring us on your blogs!
